Hosting
This documentation describes how to manage your web hosting package in the customer portal.
A hosting package provides the web space for your domains and covers the management of databases, domains, email accounts and related resources.
Contents
- Databases – creating, changing and deleting MySQL databases
- Domains – adding and managing domains within your hosting package
- Email – creating and managing email addresses and accounts
Scope
Hosting management is done in the customer portal via the Hosting menu item in the Products section. Open the desired hosting package there to access its sub-sections:
- Overview – general information and usage
- Databases
- Domains
- Emails
- FTP Accounts
- Edit – transferring and deleting the entire hosting package
Hosting package overview
The overview page of a hosting package shows:
- name, team, location and hostname of the server
- the server's IP addresses
- the creation date
- current usage: storage usage, traffic usage, and the number of databases, domains, email accounts and FTP accounts (used / available)
Transferring or deleting a hosting package
In the Edit section of a hosting package you can:
- transfer the hosting package to another team via Transfer
- permanently delete the hosting package via Delete (after typing the package name to confirm)
Warning
Deleting a hosting package permanently removes all databases, domains, email accounts and files it contains. Make sure a current backup exists before doing so.
Usage notes
Before changing an existing database, domain or email address, always check whether the resource is still actively used. Be especially careful when changing credentials or deleting a resource, since these actions can affect connected applications and websites.
