Overview
This documentation describes how to manage Object Storage in the customer portal.
Object Storage provides an S3-compatible storage area (a bucket) for files, reachable via a fixed URL as well as common S3 tools.
Contents
- Ordering Object Storage
- Managing objects – uploading, downloading and sharing files and folders
- Settings and deletion – access policy, transfer, deletion
Scope
You can access Object Storage in the customer portal via the Object Storage menu item in the Products section.
An Object Storage record corresponds to exactly one bucket – there's no separate management of multiple buckets within a single product.
Object Storage overview
The overview page shows:
- Name – also used as the username for S3 access
- Team
- URL – the bucket's endpoint
- Location
- Privacy – the current access policy
- Quota – the available storage quota
- Usage data: storage usage and number of objects
Credentials
Warning
The credentials (access key and secret access key) for S3 access are sent once by email when you order. There's no way to view or regenerate these credentials later in the customer portal. Keep that email in a safe place.
Usage notes
Before changing access permissions or deleting objects, always check whether the affected files are still used by an application.
